Progress is part of the reward — a puzzle experience where every interaction is designed to feel satisfying.

Sliding puzzles are simple, familiar, and easy to learn, but much of their satisfaction is reserved for the final solution. PieceOut explores how interaction design can transform that experience by making progress itself feel rewarding.

Created for a large-screen kiosk environment, the project reimagines the traditional sliding puzzle through motion, sound, and responsive feedback. Every interaction was designed to feel deliberate and satisfying—from moving individual pieces to completing the final arrangement. Rather than relying on complexity, the experience focuses on amplifying a familiar mechanic through game feel, visual response, and moments of celebration.

Competitive elements such as category selection and a live leaderboard encourage repeat play, while bright visuals and snappy interactions create an experience that feels playful, energetic, and approachable. The result is a puzzle that rewards more than completion—it rewards every step along the way.
